Dermal Fillers in Newport Beach, Orange County

Quick Injections For Improved Facial Volume and Contouring

Dermal fillers offer a non-surgical way to restore facial volume, soften certain lines, and enhance features such as the lips and cheeks. Our filler treatments at The Ocean Clinic Dermatology & Plastic Surgery are performed by board-certified dermatologist Dr. Amy Reinstadler and board-certified physician assistant Sarah Baca.

Types of Dermal Fillers

Different fillers have distinct properties and treatment applications, allowing Dr. Reinstadler and Sarah to select an injectable based on the patient’s anatomy and goals:

  • Juvederm® Ultra – A hyaluronic acid (HA) filler used to soften facial lines and folds and add volume to areas such as the lips.
  • Juvederm® Ultra Plus – A thicker hyaluronic acid filler suited to deeper facial wrinkles and folds, including more pronounced smile lines.
  • Restylane®-L – A HA filler formulated with lidocaine that can smooth facial wrinkles and folds while restoring targeted volume.
  • Restylane® Silk – A smooth Restylane® formulation designed specifically for subtle lip augmentation and refinement.
  • Restylane® Lyft – A firmer hyaluronic acid filler used to restore volume and improve definition in areas such as the cheeks and midface.

Are Dermal Fillers Right For Me?

Good candidates for fillers are healthy adults who want to address facial volume loss, wrinkles, hollowing, or feature definition without surgery. The best filler and amount depend on facial anatomy, skin quality, treatment area, and the desired degree of correction.

Treatment may need to be postponed for patients with an active infection or inflammation near an injection site. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, certain allergies, medical conditions, or medications also mean that treatment should be delayed until a future date.

The Procedure

A dermal filler appointment at The Ocean Clinic in Orange County begins with an assessment of the areas the patient wants to improve. Dr. Reinstadler or Sarah evaluates facial proportions, existing volume, and skin characteristics before selecting the appropriate filler and planning injection sites.

The skin is cleansed, and topical numbing can be used for additional comfort. The filler is then administered with a fine needle. Injection depth and product quantity vary based on patient indications.

After Filler Injections

Recovery after dermal filler treatment is generally brief, and most patients can return to normal daily activities shortly afterward. Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising may occur around the injection sites.

Patients may be asked to temporarily avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, and significant sun exposure. Some improvement can be seen immediately, although the final appearance becomes clearer as swelling subsides. How long results last depends on the filler, treatment area, amount injected, and individual metabolism.

Benefits of Dermal Fillers

  • Restore facial volume
  • Soften folds
  • Reduce wrinkles
  • Enhance cheek contours
  • Add volume to thin lips

  • Fast results

How Much Do Dermal Fillers Cost?

The cost of dermal fillers depends on the formula selected, amount needed, number of treatment areas, and the patient’s aesthetic goals. Because each filler serves different purposes, the final price is determined after an evaluation and development of an individualized treatment plan.

Dermal Filler FAQs

What’s the difference between fillers and Botox® or Dysport ®?

Dermal fillers restore or add volume beneath the skin to soften folds, improve contours, and enhance features such as the lips and cheeks. Botox® and Dysport® work differently by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles to reduce dynamic wrinkles caused by repeated expressions, such as forehead lines or the “11s.”

How far in advance of a special event should I schedule fillers?

It is generally wise to avoid scheduling a first-time filler appointment immediately before an important event. Allowing extra time gives the treated area an opportunity to settle and lets your injector reassess the result if necessary.

Can I receive dermal fillers if I have had facial surgery?

Previous facial surgery does not automatically rule out filler treatment. Let us know about prior procedures because surgical changes to the tissues can influence injection planning and product placement.
